Buxton’s Abbie Wood competed at the Scottish National Short Course Championships at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh last week.

On the final day of this meet, Abbie competed in the 400IM, finishing second behind Commonwealth Games Champion, Hannah Miley.

Abbie’s time of four minutes, 38.56 seconds broke the British Junior Record for this event set by Ellis Jackson in 2009 by 0.35 seconds

Abbie is heading off for a warm weather training camp in Thailand in January as part of her preparation for the British Championships in April.

Once there, she will be hoping to secure her GB selection for the European Games which are being held in Baku, Azerbaijan.
