THE LEAD-UP to next month’s World Championship Semi-Finals saw another entertaining meeting of BriSCA F2 Stock Cars at Buxton Raceway last weekend.
Thirty cars took to the track and contributed to some phenomenal racing, with drivers using the event to make final changes to their set-ups ahead of the semi-finals at Buxton on Sunday August 5.
Around 20 Bombers competed in the High Peak Bowl Championship, with Crewe-based driver Scott Fulham adding this title to his Gold Roof Championship win earlier in the month. He was closely followed by Malcolm Manley, also of Crewe, and Congleton’s Dave Cartlidge.
Super Bangers raced for their British Championship, which went to a new driver to the formula. David Hager took the chequered flag after a terrific battle with second-placed Dave Cope, of Kidsgrove. They were followed over the line by John Austin, of Cellerhead.
Also taking part were the Hot Rods and RookiRods, who rounded off a terrific meeting with some very fast, close, non-contact racing.
Action returns to the Buxton Oval on August 5 with the BriSCA F2 World Championship Semi-Final. The meeting starts at 1pm.
