Buxton fell runners fly the flag for High Peak at awards
Buxton AC Junior Fell Team have proved themselves the most successful junior fell running team in Derbyshire.
They have had an extremely successful year, winning a silver and two bronze medals in the English Fell Running Championships as well as being sixth team overall out of 59 clubs nationally, and winning the U17 girls British Uphill title.

Hide AdThey also provided eight of the 10-strong Derbyshire Inter-Counties team and had no less than four individuals selected to represent England this year.
Overall winners were cycling’s MI Racing Academy after taking first place in the Jewson Team League and riders having won 62 individual races and secured 83 podiums.
Buxton AC’s finalist trophy was presented by Roger Davis - former professional footballer and radio commentator and Jamie Caven, professional darts player, and seven times winner on the PDCC Tour.
Coach Rachel Dowle, who accompanied the junior representatives to the awards said: “This is such an inspirational event for our youngsters to attend.

The glittering event was hosted by Emma Jesson, ITV weather presenter, and Gary Newbon, ITV sports presenter, and was attended by a host of sports stars including Olympic medalists.
The Buxton team comprised: Lauren Wilshaw, Caleb Winfield, Abbie Fryer-Winder, Heather Wilshaw, Luke Mamczur, Samuel Soles, Daniel Soles, Jacob Winfield, Alex Ediker, Finn Moffatt, David Fryer-Winder, Helen Thornhill, Lauren McNeil, Rebekah Heath, Jacob Buckley, Elliot Meylan and Lucy Bednall.
