Bank Holiday Monday August 27 will see regular High Peak competitors battle it out during round six of the Darley Moor Motorcycle Road Race Championship.
Philip Worthington, from Buxton, has the unenviable task of reducing a 47-point gap to the leader in the Open Solo class, while Whaley Bridge’s Alex Gallemore is all but out of the running for the title in the Pre 98s (up to 1300cc) category.
Buxton’s William Green is currently third in the Formula 125 class, 41 points behind the leader, but with just ten points separating him from second, this will be a realistic target for the weekend.
Two more Buxton riders currently lead their respective classes; Robert Garmory tops the Pre 98s (up to 500cc) by just four points, while the hardest fought battle over the final rounds will be in the Sound of Thunder class, led by Martyn Green, with just seven points separating the top-three positions.
Practice begins at 10am, with the races due to start at 11.30am.
Admission is £11 for adults, £6 for senior citizens and free for kids under-16. Parking and paddock transfer is free.
