The Tideswell & District Darts and Dominoes League season ended, as it has for at least 70 years, with the annual presentation night, held this year at the Waterloo Hotel, Taddington.
Players from the league’s 17 teams gathered to collect prizes and trophies, enjoy the buffet and to take part in the individual competitions held on the night.
League champions at darts were the Queen Anne, from Great Hucklow. Tideswell’s Horse & Jockey team were dominoes champions, and Phil Gibbs of the Horse & Jockey took the dominoes most wins prize.
The darts league runners-up, Buxton Working Mens Club, won the dominoes team knockout (and also the presentation night dominoes knockout), while the darts team knockout was won by the Bowling Green from Bradwell.
The Bowling Green’s Mark Thorpe took the darts highest finish prize with an unbeatable 170. Most 180s, most wins and most stars all went to Mick Haynes, of the Wanted Inn.
In the last event of the evening, Paul Bettney (Queen Anne), took just 41 darts to win the presentation night darts knockout final 3-0.
