Club honours for Buxton & High Peak’s junior golfers

Buxton & High Peak Golf Club’s junior section held their presentation evening recently.

Prize-winners were: Charlie Mycock, Edward Gould, Daniel Dobson, Sasha Walker, Bradley Dobson, Alex Guess, Tom Guess, Jim Morris, Matt Bailey, George Bloor, Oliver Toseland, Hannah Nadin, Matt Lomas, James Norton, Elizabeth Gould and James Isaac.

Thanks go to everyone who has supported the section during 2012 with their time, sponsorship and donations, in particular junior organisers Tony and Liz Gee.

l Buxton & High Peak Golf Club hosted two Winter League Betterball Stableford competitions last weekend.

Saturday’s event was won by Steve Leigh and Graham Nock with a score of 43 points, who finished ahead of: Peter Allsop and Brian Walker (42 points), Gill Morris and Clive Fletcher (41 points), and Paul Longden and Jim McNaughton (41 points).

The winners of Sunday’s competition were Eddie Anderson and Phil Godfrey (42 points), from Matthew Bailey and Ron Clark (42 points) and Jeff Gerrard and Ken Hammond (41 points).

Sue Hopkins, with 16 points, was the winner of the third ladies nine-hole winter competition, from Janet Gill (16 points) and Judy Billinge (14 points).

l Dave Swindells and Simon Nunn, with 34 points, won the 4BBB Stableford competition at New Mills Golf Club on Saturday.

The pair finished ahead of Mike Richardson and Steve Price (32 points), Dave Mcartney and Chris Wild (32 points), Jim Wharmby and Mark Brooks (31 points), Tom Longworth and James McKilvenney (31 points), and Ged Moran and Neil Pragnally (31 points).
