WHALEY Bridge remain on track for a quadruple trophy haul after booking their place in the final of the Dore Shield on Bank Holiday Monday.
The Hope Valley League Premier Division champions and Derbyshire Divisional Cup winners, who are also in contention for the end-of-season Lawrence Cup, beat Dronfield Woodhouse 2-1 in the Dore Shield, and will now face the winner of Wednesday evening’s other semi-final tie between Dove Holes and Buxton Town.
Dove beat Tintwistle Villa 1-0 on Monday in their delayed quarter-final tie to reach the last four of the competition.
In the Cliff Ellis Memorial Trophy, holders Bradwell will play Holmesfield in the final after both teams won 1-0 in their semi-finals against Dronfield Woodhouse Reserves and Buxton Christians respectively.
And the Roden Cup Final will be contested by FC United of Tideswell and last season’s runners-up Youlgrave. In the semi-finals, FC United beat Calver 2-0, while Youlgrave won 4-1 against Furness Vale Reserves.
