Moore United 0, Whaley Bridge 5
WHALEY require four points from their three remaining games to lift the Cheshire League’s Division Two title in their debut season, following a routine victory over Moore United.
After an early chance for Charlie Watts flew over the bar, Lee Morris spun his marker and shot from 18 yards to break the deadlock.
Dan Christie and Anthony Hunter had shots saved off the line and Watts squandered a chance in front of an empty net, but Whaley did lead 2-0 at half-time thanks to a 30-yard free-kick from Bill Sutton.
It was a vintage Raymond Dwolitka show after the break. He latched onto a Sutton through ball and beat two men before cutting in on his left and blasting into the top corner. Minutes later, Gregory found Dwolitka at the far post and he carried the ball across the edge of the box before shooting low into the corner.
Sutton completed the scoring when he latched onto one of substitute Matt Brown’s telling through balls before sliding it under the advancing keeper.
