STRUGGLING Buxton FC’s search for a first league win since September continues after defeat to North Ferriby United on Saturday.
Second-half goals by Gary Bradshaw, Christopher Bolder and Wayne Brooksby secured the visitors a 3-1 win at the Silverlands, after Steve Ridley’s 20th-minute goal had given the Bucks the early advantage.
The result leaves Buxton in 20th place in the Evo-Stik Premier Division, three points adrift of safety, heading into Saturday’s home clash against mid-table Stafford Rangers (kick-off 3pm).
New Mills AFC fought back from two goals down to seal a 4-2 win over Shepshed Dynamo at Church Lane.
Goals either side of half-time by Ricky Muggleton and Jerome O’Connor had put the relegation-threatened Evo-Stik First Division South visitors in the driving seat.
But the Millers hit back through Carlos Meakin, Leon Grandison, David Fitzpatrick, from the penalty spot, and Anthony Barras to take all three points.
New Mills next face Derbyshire rivals Belper Town at Church Lane on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
Meanwhile, Glossop North End’s involvement in this season FA Carlsberg Vase has come to an end after defeat to fellow North West Counties League Premier Division side Runcorn Town.
Jason Gorton’s 15th-minute goal gave the Hillmen a 1-0 lead at half-time in their third round tie at Surrey Street, played in front of a bumper crowd of 322.
However hopes of another Wembley final appearance were dashed by two goals in the space of seven second-half minutes, from Scott Burton and James McShane.
Glossop will be out for revenge when they travel to face Runcorn in the league on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
