U19 fixtures affected by wintry blast

THE FROST wiped out all but two of the matches in the Baris FA North Midlands Under-19s League last week.

Buxton FC Bluestar’s scheduled trip to Dinnington Town last Thursday was among the matches to be postponed.

One match, however, did go ahead in Buxton’s division, with third-placed Carlton Town cementing their place in the Division Three table with a resounding 7-2 win over neighbours Blidworth Welfare.

All seven goals came from different players, as Kaman Davies, Jevel Foster, Dylan Thompson, Joe Wells, Abash Abdullah, Connor Bramhall and Raheem Gordon all found the net, while Josh Bye and Josh Bretnall replied for a shell-shocked Blidworth.

In the Mini Shield Division G, Division Three side Dunkirk completed a double over Division Two Radford FC with a 2-0 victory played in tricky conditions, Jack Upton and MaCauley Diuk the scorers.

Buxton FC Bluestar’s next scheduled home fixture is against Maltby Main on Thursday February 16 (kick-off 7.45pm).
