Buxton guest house proprietor Pat Chapman has visited the town’s past and returned with three stories which bring our history to life.
A Buxton Trilogy tells of events in three distinct periods of Buxton’s history; the visits of Mary, Queen of Scots between 1573 and 1584, the great holiday resort that was the newly-built Crescent in the 1790s and the town as a place of tranquillity and treatment in the early 1920’s.
And Pat, a businessman who came to the town to take up his passion for writing, will be signing books this Thursday, June 9 from 7pm to 9pm in The Old Hall, where the stories begin.
A Buxton Trilogy by Pat Chapman is published by Country Books of Little Longstone. www.couhntrybooks.biz, ISBN 978-1906789-480-0.
