Hope Valley League A Division: Buxton Christians 0, Tideswell United 5

TIDESWELL comfortably took the points at Buxton Christians with five of the best as they climbed to second place in the table.

Within two minutes United added a second as a deft flick by Damian Wray released Jack Bradbury, who took one touch before planting his shot beyond the keeper.

Craig Owen was always lively for the home side and after 30 minutes called John Stanway into action, the young stopper was quickly down to his right to turn away the chance.

Five minutes before the break United added the killer third goal as another Bradbury corner-kick was headed back across goal by Andrew Swanson and Baker climbed highest to head home from six yards.

The second period struggled to get off the ground as the visitors were in no rush to press the game and the excellent attitude and work ethic displayed by Andy Tooze’s side kept United on their toes. Andrew Swanson limped out of the action only minutes into the half with a groin injury as Robert Green joined the action.

The goal of the game arrived on the hour mark as Wilson and Green combined down the right, Wilson showed superb technique to get to the byline and his perfect cross was met well by Jack Bradbury, who found the net for his second of the afternoon with a solid header.

United then had an appeal for a penalty turned down by Steve Bradshaw as Wray felt he was dragged to the ground.

The fifth goal arrived with 15 minutes left on the clock. Dean Morris sent the impressive Danny Hopkins into the channel, and the youngster wasted no time in delivering his cross for Wray to smash home to end the scoring.
