This Saturday, Buxton travel to Nantwich Town for an Evo-Stik Premier League fixture which kicks off at 3pm. The earlier meeting between the clubs at the Silverlands in September saw the Bucks win a thriller by the odd goal in seven.
There is no midweek fixture scheduled for next week.
Chairman Tony Tomlinson has thanked supporters for their backing at last Saturday’s home game against Chasetown: “That was our best Saturday attendance since the opening day and we all appreciate the return of some of our missing supporters for Scott’s first match in charge.
“Even though we didn’t win, he has made a good impression so far.
“We backed John Reed with a wage bill that was increased from last season and with the full complement of contract professionals that he wanted so there isn’t a lot of room for manoeuvre for Scott but we intend to do our best if he wants to make changes to the squad.”
In round three of the Derbyshire Senior Cup, Buxton have been drawn at home to Long Eaton United, currently placed 16th in the NCEL Premier Division. The game will be played on Wednesday, December 14.
In the next round of the Doodson Sport cup (league cup) the Bucks have been drawn away to the winners of the tie between Stafford Rangers and Witton Albion on a date to be decided.
