There's plenty of pre-season football ahead

NEW MILLS AFC have released a list of pre-season friendlies. The Millers will open their warm-up campaign on Saturday July 18 with the visit of Football League side Oldham Athletic to Church Lane (kick-off 3pm), before entertaining UniBond Premier Division side Matlock Town on Monday July 20 (kick-off 7.45pm).

New Mills are in High Peak Cup action at Church Lane on Saturday July 25 against Chapel Town (kick-off 1pm), with Finals Day taking place on Sunday July 26.

An away trip to Woodley Sports on Tuesday July 28 (kick-off 7.45pm), will be followed on Saturday August 1 by a home match against Radcliffe Borough (kick-off 3pm).

The Millers' final pre-season friendly will take place on Tuesday August 4, away at Trafford (kick-off 7.45pm), with the Vodkat League season starting on Saturday August 8.

New Mills Reserves have also lined up a number of pre-season matches, ahead of their inaugural season in the Cheshire Football League, which begins on Saturday August 15.

They will travel to Stalybridge Celtic Reserves and Chadderton Reserves on Wednesday July 22 (kick-off tbc) and Wednesday July 29 (kick-off 7.45pm) respectively, before entertaining Dronfield Town Reserves at Church Lane on Tuesday August 4 (kick-off 7.45pm).

New Mills joined the Cheshire League to ensure the continuation of reserve team football, as the UniBond League does not cater for reserve team football. The reserves will play in Division Two alongside 15 other teams including Congleton Town Reserves, Denton Town and Maine Road Reserves.
