Millers face an exciting derby FA Vase tie
NEW Mills entertain Glossop North End at Church Lane on Saturday in the first round proper of the Carlsberg sponsored FA Vase, kick off 3pm.
The stakes are high for both clubs as they not only fight for local bragging rights but also for valuable prize money of 1,000 and further progress in the competition.
It is the first competitive fixture between the two sides to take place at Church Lane for over 30 years and an exciting game is anticipated.
After last weekend's fixtures, both sides sit in the top four of the North West Counties Premier Division and have scored nine goals in the previous two rounds of the competition.
Admission to the ground will be 5 for adults and 2.50 for concessions and turnstiles will open from 1pm. As a large crowd is anticipated, supporters are asked to arrive as early as possible and enjoy the comforts of the newly refurbished Clubhouse where the televised fixtures including Blackburn Rovers v Manchester United can be watched in comfort.
For those people unable to attend on the day, match sponsors High Peak Radio will be providing live commentary from the ground.
Should the scores be level after 90 minutes, the rules of the FA Vase dictate that an extra half hour be played and should no winner emerge after extra time, a replay is required and this will take place at Surrey Street on Wednesday October 8, 7.45pm kick off.
