LATEST: Millers' title bid in tatters

NWCFL Premier Division AFC Fylde 5, New Mills 0 from Kellamergh Park, Wharton NEW Mills AFC's hopes of promotion to the UniBond League are in tatters after a thumping defeat in Saturday's Vodkat Premier Division top-of-the-table clash with AFC Fylde.

Starting the day three points ahead of second-placed Fylde, the Millers needed only to draw to take the title and guarantee promotion to the UniBond League.

But Fylde won the title-decider 5-0 at Kellamergh Park to end New Mills' winning run in the league, which prior to Saturday had been 21 games, having not lost since the Boxing Day defeat by Glossop North End.

The result means Fylde and New Mills both end the season on 104 points at the top of the Vodkat Premier Division, but Fylde take top spot and the league title by way of a far superior goal difference.

As it currently stands, only the league champions are guaranteed UniBond League football next season.
