Football's not coming home just yet!
NEW MILLS AFC will be wondering what they have to do to get a home cup game – after the draws for the early rounds of the E.ON-sponsored FA Cup and the FA Carlsberg Vase were announced this week.
The Millers potentially face three successive away ties in the FA Cup, as well as one in the Vase.
Glossop North End travel to Vodkat League Premier Division rivals Formby in the Extra Preliminary Round of the FA Cup on Saturday August 15, while New Mills make the trip to Lincolnshire to face Bottesford Town.
Should the teams progress, they will again be on their travels in the Preliminary Round, on Saturday August 29, with Glossop facing either Maltby Main or Rossington Park, and New Mills taking on UniBond First Division South side Carlton Town.
The draw for the First Qualifying Round, on Saturday September 12, would see the Hillmen host either Chorley, Nostell MW or Oldham Town at Surrey Street.
But if the Millers reach this stage of the competition, they will again be away, to either Glapwell, Holwell Sports or Ellistown.
And the draw for the FA Vase, which sees New Mills entering the competition at the First Round Proper stage, has also been unkind, with a trip to either Bourne Town or Graham St Prims.
Glossop – after their historic appearance in the FA Vase final at Wembley last season – enter the competition at the Second Round Proper stage.
* New Mills AFC's youth team has been drawn at home against Long Eaton United in the First Qualifying Round of the FA Youth Cup.
The winners of the tie, which will be played on Monday September 21, will travel to face either Hinckley United, Deeping Rangers or Arnold Town.
