Football League clubs to face the Bucks in pre-season friendlies

BUXTON FC have announced a programme of pre-season friendlies which includes visits by three Football League clubs.

On Thursday July 9, Championship side Barnsley, who in recent seasons have sent their first team squad, will do so again.

Two days later, on Saturday July 11, the Bucks travel to Rossington Maine.

Tuesday July 14 sees Macclesfield Town the visitors, and a week later, on Tuesday July 21, Buxton entertain Blue Square North side Stalybridge Celtic.

The following weekend sees a new venture in the High Peak tournament.

Semi-finals take place on Saturday July 25 with the Bucks visiting FA Vase finalists Glossop North End and New Mills taking on Chapel Town.

The final and third-placed matches will then be staged at the Silverlands on Sunday July 26.

A third visit by a league club follows on Wednesday July 29 when Chesterfield come to the Silverlands.

And the Bucks' last pre-season match is also staged at the Silverlands with another near-neighbour, Leek Town, the visitors on Saturday August 8. The UniBond League season opens the following Saturday, August 15.

Entry prices for the pre-season matches are an attractive 5, with 3 charged as the usual concession.

Season tickets are still on sale at 150 (90 concessions).
