FA Vase dream over for Millers

New Mills AFC 0, Norton & Stockton Ancients 2 TWO SECOND half goals ended New Mills' hopes of reaching the Quarter Finals of the FA Vase.

After a goalless first 45 minutes, the Millers were dealt a blow early in the second half by the loss of influential captain Carlos Meakin to injury.

Dangerman Sonny Andrews then struck twice in the space of three minutes for North East side Norton & Stockton Ancients, with less than 15 minutes to play, to secure victory and a place in the Quarter Final draw of the Vase.

The result ends New Mills' unbeaten run in all competitions, which had stretched to 19 games.

Other Fifth Round results: St Ives Town 1, Shildon 3; Whitehawk 1, Marske United 1; Long Buckby 3, Gresley 4; Willand Rovers 2, Barwell 2; Needham Market 2, Daventry Town 0; Chertsey Town 1, Whitley Bay 1.
