Buxton FC v Worksop Town - match off
Ilkeston's visit to Buxton FC was a victim of the weather last weekend
BUXTON Football Club’s league trip to Worksop Town tomorrow (Saturday) has fallen victim to the wintry weather.
The Bucks have now not played a fixture since their narrow 1-0 win at Ashton United on January 12
With the Worksop game postponed, supporters are being asked to help get the Silverlands ground ready for the club’s next scheduled home fixture.
Club secretary Mike Barton said: “Buxton officials would like as many supporters as possible to turn up at the Silverlands after 10am on Saturday (January 26) to clear the surround.
“The forecast is for a thaw early next week but the sheer volume of snow on the Silverlands means that a big helping hand will be needed for any chance of the important match with FC United on February 2 going ahead.”
Ahead of the FC United fixture, Buxton will make another attempt to play their Derbyshire Senior Cup tie at Alfreton Town on Tuesday evening (kick-off 7.45pm).
