Brazilian signs for Stamford

STAMFORD have signed their first South American player when they signed 27-year-old forward Marcio Silves Neves, who is studying at the local college.

Although born in Brazil, he has a Portuguese passport. His last club was Sao Bernado in Brazil.

Manager Dougie Keast said: "He's been training while we've waited for international clearance and he looks like he has played at a good standard.

"He's technically very good and has an excellent first touch."

Marcio would have been included in the squad to play at Quorn this weekend, but the weather led to that game being postponed.
