NEW MILLS AFC moved to within five points of the Evo-Stik First Division South play-offs with a 3-1 victory over Sutton Coldfield Town on Monday night.
Goals inside the first ten minutes from Carlos Meakin and Leon Grandison gave the Millers a 2-0 half-time lead and although Harry Harris hit back for Sutton early in the second half, Luke Horrocks made the game safe for the hosts on 75 minutes.
The result was New Mills’ fourth league win in their last five games. With seven matches remaining of the regular season, Ally Pickering’s men will hope to continue their late charge for the play-offs when they entertain Rainworth Miners Welfare at Church Lane on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
