NEW MILLS AFC play their first match since the shock departure of manager Ally Pickering when they travel to face Bamber Bridge this afternoon (Saturday).

The club announced on Thursday that Pickering had left Church Lane by mutual consent with immediate effect.

Roy Soule, who joined the coaching staff at the start of the season, has been placed in interim charge of first-team affairs.

Kick-off at The Irongate Ground at Bamber Bridge on Saturday is 3pm.

The Millers return to Lancashire on Tuesday evening when they face arguably their toughest test of the league season so far at Skelmersdale United (kick-off 7.45pm).
