New Mills were narrowloy beaten 3-2 by Ossett Albion.
Despite having slightly the better of the opening exchanges, The Millers fell behind in the eighth minute when a cross from the right found Bower, who controlled the ball then hit a half-volley across Ashley into the left side of the net.
New Mills equalised in the 16 minute when Ahmadi rounded the keeper who then managed to block his shot, before Douglas-Pringle fired the rebound home.
Both Ahmadi and Hampson had efforts just wide of goal before Albion again took the lead when the ball was given away in an attacking position.
This allowed the Unicorns to break down the right and the resulting cross ended at the feet of Muller, who had a simple tap-in to the right side of the net with the defenders still going the other way.
Two minutes before the interval, an excellent run from defence by Antoine-Clarke produced another Millers’ equaliser when his pass split the Albion defence and Ahmadi latched onto the ball, rounded the keeper and slotted the ball home.
The second half was a dour affair suitable only for the die-hards of both clubs.
Ahmadi had a shot turned round the post by the keeper in the 65th minute.
Seven minutes later Ossett again took the lead when Jones scored from a corner.
New Mills spent the remainder of the game camped in the Ossett half of the field but the closest they came was a shot two feet over by Pollard.
