Both teams took time to settle, but in the 19th minute Buxton took the lead, with Danny Hopkins latching on to a through ball from Leon Owen to head over the onrushing keeper.

The young Bucks almost doubled their lead when John Ballington burst down the right wing, but excellent defending cut out his cross and denied Alex Airey an open net and his first goal of the season.

The second goal did come from the resulting corner in the 39th minute.

Josh Hall whipped the ball in with pace, to be met by John Ollerenshaw who rose highest to guide it past the West Bridgford goalkeeper.

Chances came and went throughout the second half, mainly for Buxton as Stanway in goal enjoyed a fairly quiet evening.

Buxton were finally rewarded for their dominance when Cameron Higginbottom threaded the ball through the West Bridgford defence to Hopkins, who pulled it back for Airey to hit the back of an empty net.

Further chances fell to Johnson, Gilbride and Mann, as Buxton deservedly ran out 3-0 winners.
