Kick-off in Hope Valley League as Dove Holes prepare for title defence

DOVE HOLES Football Club begin the defence of their Hope Valley League Premier Division title on Wednesday (kick-off 6.30pm) when they host Brampton.

The game is one of five midweek fixtures, ahead of the first full round of matches this Saturday.

The league has welcomed three new teams over the summer - Chesterfield Town Reserves, Darley Dale Lions and Hope Sports – who will all be competing in the B Division.

There was also the departure of two clubs: Whaley Bridge Reserves, who have transferred to the Cheshire League; and the now-defunct Buxton Christians.


Wednesday August 22 (kick-off 6.30pm) - Premier Division: Dove Holes v Brampton. A Division: Bamford v Buxworth; Grindleford v Cote Heath. B Division: Darley Dale Lions v Stoney Middleton; Eyam v Buxworth Res.

Saturday August 25 (kick-off 2pm) – Premier Division: Dronfield Woodhouse v Bakewell Town; Furness Vale v AFC Dronfield Woodhouse; Hathersage v Tideswell Utd; Holmesfield v Bradwell; Hunters Bar v Dronfield Town A; Tintwistle Villa v Buxton Town. A Division: Blazing Rag v Dove Holes Res; Calver v Youlgrave Utd; Chinley v FC United Tideswell; Peak Dale v Totley Sports; Red Lion v Baslow.
