Another weekend of wet weather decimated the programme in the Hope Valley League last Saturday.

The downpours meant that just six matches survived the conditions across all three tiers.

In the Premier Division, leaders Dove Holes saw their game at Dronfield Woodhouse postponed, giving Bradwell the chance to close the gap.

They duly took advantage and ran out 5-1 winners at home to AFC Dronfield Woodhouse.

The defending champions are now just three points behind Dove, and crucially have a game in hand.

Elsewhere in the top division, Youlgrave and Hope Sports both boosted their survival chances with much-needed wins.

Youlgrave prospered 2-0 away at Brampton to boost their hopes of avoiding an immediate return to the second tier.

Hope Sports inflicted a 3-0 win over Hunters Bar as they won for only the second time this season.

Both sides are now just two points behind Dronfield Woodhouse.

Holmesfield maintained their title credentials with a thrilling 4-3 win at home to Bakewell Town.

The mid-table clash between Tintwistle Villa and Tideswell United predictably ended in a stalemate, after a 2-2 draw.

• In the A Division, all five scheduled matches were a washout.

One A Division team did have a match though, with Buxton Town in DCFA Junior Cup action at Chesterfield Town (see report below).

• In the B Division just one game beat the weather, with Railway FC hosting struggling Winster.

The hosts unsurprisingly romped to victory, but they were made to work in a ten-goal thriller as they secured a 6-4 win.

The victory means Railway have surpassed their points total from last season, and still have ten games remaining.
