Glossop North End booked their place in the last four of the Derbyshire Senior Cup after a comfortable 3-1 win at Shirebrook Town.
Goals from Alex Byrne, Sam Hare and Kelvin Lugsden were enough to see off NCEL Division One outfit Shirebrook, who netted a late strike from the penalty spot.
Glossop bossed the majority of the opening exchanges but failed to create any clear goalscoring opportunities.
That was until the 39th minute when Byrne opened the scoring after being put through on goal.
The forward finished coolly to give the Hillmen a welcome lead.
And just before the break arrived, GNE extended the cushion further when Hare popped up to make it 2-0.
With the game winding down Lugsden’s bullet header effectively sealed a last four berth for the visitors, rendering Shirebrook’s late spot-kick a mere consolation.
