Hillmen await in round two

WHALEY Bridge Athletic have been drawn away at North West Counties League Premier Division side Glossop North End in the second round of the Derbyshire Senior Challenge Cup.

Whaley, making their first appearance in the county’s top cup competition this season following promotion to the Cheshire League Division One, have already brushed aside Belper United and South Normanton Athletic, beating the latter 4-1 on Saturday.

And in round two they will travel to Surrey Street to face fellow High Peak side Glossop, situated two steps above Whaley in the non-league football pyramid and winner of the competition back in 2001.

The second round draw in full: Shirebrook Town v Borrowash Victoria, Glossop North End v Whaley Bridge Athletic, Heanor Town v Clay Cross Town, Long Eaton United v Holbrook Sports, Pinxton v Graham Street Prims, Glapwell v Mickleover Royals.

Matches are to be played week commencing Monday November 12.
