Glossop North End’s promising start to the 2014-15 campaign continued with a goalless draw at Surrey Street on Tuesday.
After their 100% winning streak was ended against Silsden, Chris Willcock’s side were once again held on their own turf.
Tom Bailey was presented with the first effort of the evening but last season’s top scorer saw his effort well saved by the Congleton stopper.
The ‘keeper was again in the thick of the action to deny Aaron Moxam before the break.
Glossop were struggling to break down the visitors and as much as they tried in the second 45 minutes, Congleton escaped with a share of the spoils.
Despite not getting the three points GNE are still second in the table, remain unbeaten and have conceded only twice in the league so far.
North End are in FA Cup action Saturday at Maltby Main, before hosting Alsager next Tuesday.
