Glossop North End are heading back to Wembley after victory over two legs in their FA Vase semi-final.

Defending a 2-0 first-leg advantage this afternoon (Saturday), in front of a crowd of 1,300 at Surrey Street, the Hillmen lost 1-0 to AFC St Austell, the goal being scored by Liam Eddy in second-half injury time.

Matt Russell had earlier been shown a straight red card for a foul on Neil Slateford less than ten minutes into the match, forcing the High Peak hosts to play the majority of the game with ten men.

The 2-1 aggregate win sees Glossop returning to Wembley for the first time since 2009, when they lost 2-0 to Whitley Bay in the final of the same competition.

North End’s opponents in the 2015 final, to be played on Saturday May 9, will be North Shields FC, who defeated Highworth Town 3-0 over two legs.
