Fresh injury worries for Bucks

BUXTON FC have fresh injury worries ahead of Tuesday night’s home league game with Ashton United.

Defenders Tommy Agus and Josh Wilde were both substituted during the 2-2 draw with FC United of Manchester at the weekend.

After the match, Assistant Manager Clive Freeman said: “Tommy’s hurt his thigh, a problem that he has had earlier in the season. Hopefully he has just caught it.

“Josh as well has turned his ankle, so that is obviously a bit of a worry for Tuesday.”

Buxton moved up to fourth in the Evo-Stik Premier Division despite having to settle for a point against in-form FC United, in front of a bumper crowd of 1,726 at the Silverlands on Saturday.

Captain Mike Norton was FC United’s hero as his two goals - the second near the end of six minutes of injury time - cancelled out Kieran Lugsden’s earlier brace.

Freeman added: “I think we did enough to win the game today. The lads are bitterly disappointed.”
