A number of issues in the Premier Division have been thrown into doubt after Brampton folded last week.
The Chesterfield-based side were placed in mid-table but their exit from the league now means all their previous results are wiped out.
That was not good news for Holmesfield last weekend who, despite overcoming Dronfield Woodhouse 2-1, saw their lead at the top trimmed to just one point.
Hot on their heels are Dove Holes, who trounced Hope Sports 10-0 at home to stay within touching distance of Holmesfield.
The league have yet to announce whether two teams will still go down from the top tier, with Youlgrave United sitting just three points above Hope after they lost 6-0 away at Furness Vale.
In the A Division, there was a shock defeat at Ashover as the league leaders lost 2-1 to Hathersage.
Dronfield Town A’s 4-0 thrashing of Buxworth saw them move level on points with Hathersage, with both teams five behind Ashover.
Elsewhere there was a crucial win for Tideswell Blue Star as they overcame fellow strugglers Baslow 4-3.
They are still seven points from safety but crucially they still have half a season to go, with only 13 games completed so far.
In the B Division leaders Bamford romped to a 4-0 home win over winless Furness Vale Reserves.
Bamford remain 12 points clear of Chesterfield Town, who have four games in hand but possess an inferior goal difference.
