Buxton’s last pre-season friendly ended in a 2-1 defeat at Glossop as North End scored twice in the last 20 minutes to come from behind to retain the High Peak Radio Cup.

After the home side had an effort ruled out in the 16th minute, the Bucks took the lead six minutes before half-time.

Nicky Walker got behind the flat back four close to halfway, sprinted away and produced a composed low finish.

Interval substitute and Silverlands legend Mark Reed then netted a 62nd minute tap-in from a low left-flank cross before Ben Richardson was unerring from the penalty-spot following a foul by Danny Burns.
