BUXTON FC boss Martin McIntosh has been named the Evo-Stik League Premier Division’s Manager of the Month for April.
McIntosh has transformed the Bucks from relegation candidates to mid-table safety after winning ten of the remaining 14 league matches since arriving at the Silverlands in mid-February.
This phenomenal run included five successive wins in April - over FC United (2-1 away), Matlock Town (2-1 home), Stafford Rangers (3-1 home and 2-0 away) and Kendal Town (5-3 home). The only blip came on the last day of the season, losing 1-0 to relegation-threatened Whitby Town.
Ex-Worksop Town manager McIntosh completed the season by guiding Buxton to their tenth Derbyshire Senior Cup, beating Derby County 1-0 in last week’s final at the B2net Stadium in Chesterfield and gaining revenge for a 5-0 drubbing the previous year.
