Bucks chairman’s ‘12th man’ rallying cry to fans

BUXTON FC chairman Tony Tomlinson has issued a rallying call for fans to come out and support the team as they battle the threat of relegation from the Evo-Stik Premier Division.

The Bucks will be looking to build on last weekend’s 2-1 win over basement side Burscough when they entertain Ashton United (kick-off 3pm) in a crucial league fixture at the Silverlands this Saturday.

Reduced ticket prices for the Ashton game will see adults admitted for £6, senior citizens for £4 - and kids (under-16) for £1.

Tomlinson said he was hopeful of a good crowd, with fans turning out to be the side’s ‘12th man’.

“The board has done its bit by funding the arrival of new players, and we would very much appreciate a good turnout as we look to fight off relegation and attempt to build on last week’s positive result,” the chairman added.

On Monday night (kick-off 7.45pm), the Bucks are back on their travels as they visit Bradford Park Avenue for a league fixture (kick-off 7.45pm).
