BANK HOLDAY MONDAY RESULTS: Stocksbridge Park Steels 0-1 Buxton FC, New Mills AFC 2-1 Stamford

KIERAN Lugsden scored after four minutes against Stocksbridge Park Steels on Bank Holiday Monday to secure Buxton FC their first win of the season.

The striker thumped home his fourth goal of the season from 18 yards to net all three points for the Bucks, ending a run of five successive Evo-Stik Premier Division defeats.

New Mills extended their lead at the top of the Evo-Stik Division One South to two points after coming from behind to beat Stamford at Church Lane on Monday.

The visitors went ahead through Sam Mullarkey after 12 minutes, but Ashley Stott struck four minutes later to level the score, and the Millers’ latest recruit secured the win with 13 minutes of the match remaining.
