Bad start to the new year for Buxton FC

IT WAS a bad start to the new year for Buxton FC when they lost 4-1 at home to Stocksbridge Park Steels on Bank Holiday Monday.

The Bucks went ahead after just ten minutes through Bradley Barraclough. But fellow Evo-Stik Premier Division strugglers Stocksbridge levelled on 31 minutes through Brian Cusworth.

And in the second half, the visitors took advantage of the space they were afforded and added a further three goals through Matt Telling and subsitute Scott Hogan (2).

This Saturday, Buxton are away at Northwich Victoria, kick off 3pm.

New Mills AFC travelled to Stamford on Bank Holiday Monday where they drew 1-1 in an Evo-Stik First Division South fixture. Carlos Meakin put the Millers ahead after seven minutes and a Michael Bowler own goal levelled things for the home side.

The Millers entertain Brigg Town at Church Lane this Saturday, kick off 3pm.
