FORMER player Kevin Dean has been co-opted on to the General Committee of Derbyshire County Cricket Club.

The 36-year-old left-arm seamer made his First Class debut for the county in 1996, staying with the club throughout his career until he retired at the end of the 2008 season.

Chairman Chris Grant said: “As someone who has only recently retired from the game, Kevin will be an excellent source of support and advice to Karl Krikken and our young playing staff.”
