Disley Cricket Club’s 1st XI couldn’t repeat their heroics of last week as they fell to defeat at promotion chasers Chester Co.
The tail wagged thanks to Dave Bridge (29 not out) and Rick Robinson Moss (22) but an under-par total of 155 was easily surpassed by the hosts.
The 2nd XI also lost to continue their wretched home record; bundled out for 68 before a spirited effort with the ball saw them take six Kingsley wickets – U15 seamer Dave Potter taking 3-12.
With the U13s on a bye week, the U15s were the only junior side in action on Sunday, falling 19 runs shy of Bollington’s 111-3. Positive knocks from Alex Dyson (35) and Joe Chorlton (28) put Disley in the driving seat but the final six batsmen combined for just five runs leaving the U15s 92 all-out.
It was left to the Rams XI to save face, beating Youlgrave Lodge by 78 runs as Sivanka Herath collected a hat-trick in his outstanding 5-12.
