Buxton Cricket Club Juniors have celebrated another successful season.

The u17s finished third in the north section of the Kidsgrove and District league, while the u15s won the Macclesfield division of the Cheshire High Peak League, losing an exciting final to Poynton by 10 runs.

The u12s and u13s both made good progress and the u11s Hardball team won the Derbyshire Dales league title, going unbeaten.

The u11s Kwik A Team also won the Derbyshire Dales title, winning all 12 matches played. The ‘B’ team finished sixth and The A team lost a semi-final to Denby.

Bob Marsden, the juniors co-ordinator, said: “This has been a great season, despite the weather, and one that all the juniors and parents have enjoyed.

“All the teams have done well in new leagues, playing more matches and at a higher standard than before.

“We are grateful to many volunteer coaches who have run practices and managed teams.

“The club’s junior section is thriving and we’re excited by plans to improve practice facilities.”
