Ginetta Junior Championship newcomer Harry Mailer will race in Hillspeed colours in 2014 after being named in the Hathersage squad alongside fellow car racing rookie Pedro Cardoso.
Having already confirmed his participation in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship support category for his maiden season in cars, the promising 14-year-old from Horsham has now completed a deal to run with the 2010 and 2011 championship-winning team.
Mailer’s first contact with Hillspeed came during last year’s Ginetta Junior Scholarship, where he was a finalist, and the multiple club karting champion is now set to race as one of the youngest drivers on the BTCC package this year.
Team principal Richard Ollerenshaw says Harry’s potential was the reasoning behind the move.
He said: “Harry is a driver with a great deal of promise and we’re absolutely delighted to have agreed a deal for him to join Hillspeed this season. We’re sure he and Pedro will work extremely well together and help to push each other on.
“Ginetta Junior is renowned for being an incredibly competitive and closely-fought championship; the ideal place for youngsters like Harry to learn their craft.
Rounds one and two of the 20-race Ginetta Junior Championship season will take place on March 29/30 at Brands Hatch Indy Circuit in Kent.
