Buxton’s young guns romped to a 5-1 victory over Worksop Town at the Silverlands last Thursday, to maintain their unbeaten home record.
Buxton were in fine form as they demolished the visitors thanks mainly to a hat-trick from Aaron Amesbury.
Jack Miller and James Handley were also on the scoresheet for the under-19s, who recorded their fifth victory in 11 outings in their first season in the top flight.
Worksop did score a consolation through John Lufudu, but there was no taking the shine off an emphatic win for the hosts.
The result puts Buxton in with a real chance of claiming the runners-up spot.
They currently sit nine points shy of leaders Basford United, but have just three games remaining.
The first of those is tonight with another home game in store.
Hallam, who have struggled this season and are second-bottom, visit the Silverlands (7.45pm kick-off).
