COMBS Sailing Club has successfully retained the High Peak Trophy.
A team of seven boats travelled to Toddbrook for the High Peak Regatta, with the aim of defending their title and retaining the trophy for the best club in the High Peak.

The format for the racing was three one hour pursuit races, with the first three boats from each club, Combs, Toddbrook SC and Etherow SC, to count. There was no representation from Glossop SC or Errwood SC this year.

Etherow, who are not technically in the High Peak, were racing for the separate SK Trophy, presented by the commodore of Etherow.

The first race started in light fluky conditions with Toddbrook taking line honour's, followed by Etherow and then Combs with the following four places.

Combs took first, second and fourth in race two, with Etherow managing third and Toddbrook only finishing sixth.

The final race saw Combs claim the top two places once again to retain the High Peak trophy, as well as the new SK Trophy, for another year.

Next year's event is due to take place at Errwood Sailing Club.
