KEEN riders across the High Peak are jumping for joy with the opening of a new grassed arena at Buxton Riding School.

And in this year of national celebration, the new facility is being christened as the ‘Jubilee Arena’.

Louise Thompson, owner of Buxton Riding School, on Fern Road, said: “The arena will be used for dressage and showjumping, as well as for lessons. And it will also be available for hire to the public.”

Another new addition for 2012 is the provision of a one-hour farm ride up to Solomon’s Temple.

The ride includes some optional cross country jumps, and riders can either tackle the course on their own horse, or hire a mount and take to the course as part of a supervised group.
