Youths throwing fireworks in Buxton streets issued dispersal order

Police have arrested two teenagers and dispersed several more following reports that fireworks were being thrown in the streets of Buxton.

On the afternoon of Wednesday, December 16, police received calls from residents reporting youths throwing fireworks in Ashwood Park, Bakewell Road, Fairfield Road, the Pavilion Gardens and Bridge Street.

Some callers alleged that fireworks were being thrown at passers-by.

Two boys, aged 16 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of possessing an adult firework under the age of 18 and released on bail.

Officers also enforced a police dispersal order, preventing the youths from returning to the area between 8.30pm last night and noon today.
