In Budget 2016, George Osborne failed to implement the 2015 Conservative manifesto commitment to introducing a freeze in railway fare increases.

The 2015 Conservative party manifesto stated categorically that they would freeze railway fares for a fixed five-year period.

I feel railway commuters now pay the highest fares in the European Union.

In resolving this situation, I believe that there should be an immediate reduction of 30 per cent funded by scrapping the High Speed Rail Two project, that has minute public support.

The next generation will not be better off, the current generation will not be better off until we have a Government that will put our nation first, our people first and our future first.
