LETTER: School supports anti-bullying week

My name is Matthew Hansell and I am a Year two teacher and the Anti-Bullying coordinator at Buxton Infant School.

This week is National Anti-Bullying week and our school, along with many others in the area will be engaged in activities that highlight this year’s anti-bullying theme, Make a Noise About Bullying.

We have an anti-bullying cluster group made up of school staff and parents and representatives of five other schools in the area – Buxton Junior School, Fairfield, St Anne’s, Burbage and Taddington.

We have been planning some events for anti-bullying week for some of our children to engage in together and I was hoping your paper could report on these and provide us with some publicity for the childrens’ efforts.

On Thursday, November 26, school council representatives from all six schools will be joining together in the dance hall at Buxton

Community School to engage in some fun anti-bullying activities and to put together a display showcasing work from all six schools that was completed during anti-bullying week. This display will then be erected in the conservatory at The Pavilion Gardens from the late afternoon of Monday, November 30, for at least a week, where hopefully lots of people from Buxton and the surrounding area who will be able to get a glimpse of how the schools in the area try to combat bullying.
