LETTER: Please listen and provide a bin for our dog mess

The influx of new housing in the Long Lane, Manchester Rd/Crossings Rd area in Chapel-en-le-Frith has brought it's expected population increase, not just in humans but in animals, mainly dogs.

The problem of dog poo has reared it’s head again, Crossings Rd, being a main access to dog walkers heading for Eccles Pike, is once again strewn with dog poo and bags of dog poo. There is no inference that our new neighbours are responsible, maybe that’s just coincidental.

I have on more than one occasion asked the High Peak Borough Council to provide a collection bin for dog waste somewhere along Crossings Rd, their response was, that having done a survey there is very little traffic in terms of dog walkers.

I spoke, at the time, to the people doing the survey, who were there between 10am and 11am on a weekday morning, and suggested they returned during the hours of 7pm to 9pm to make more accurate observations, obviously fell on deaf ears, and looking at the age of the people doing the census, very deaf ears.

So HPBC or indeed if it’s a Derbyshire County Council matter, fingers out please, and consequently make everyone happy........oh yes I have a dog.
