YOUNGSTERS are being invited to get in on Olympic action by carrying a baton from London to Derbyshire.
County youngsters of all ages and abilities can take part in the ‘Derbyshire Baton Challenge’ along a 205-mile sustainable transport route from the Olympic Stadium.
The journey will begin on Sunday July 22 and end at County Hall, Matlock, on Friday July 27, in time for the opening ceremony.
Young people can run jog, skateboard, kayak, wheelchair, canoe or use any other means to travel as part of the challenge organised by Derbyshire County Council. Over 190 youngsters and families, sports clubs and disability groups have already signed up.
